For years, people have been coming to Zippo with design ideas that they would like to see on a Zippo windproof lighter. In 2006, we gave them a chance to make this dream a reality with the Design A Lighter contest. The goal of the contest was to discover fresh designs that might someday be used on a Zippo lighter. Seahorses is a winning entry submitted by Tim Twelves of San Francisco.
Zippo products have been used for advertising, promotional and corporate gifting for many years. The imprinting message have improved along with the designs, and you can still have your own design put onto a windproof lighter. There is a minimum order quantity, but you too can see your design on a Zippo windproof lighter.

Imprint Methods
Auto Engrave
One of our most popular customization methods, the Auto Engrave process employs diamond-cut engraving to achieve the intricate, dimensional look of jewelry. Also available on select precious-metal models.
Laser Engrave
Computer-programmed laser engravers expertly reproduce your custom artwork onto a variety of base models. The crisp and precise design is revealed in metallic tones beneath the lighter’s finish to provide luxurious contrast.
Color Image
Zippo’s signature printing method is capable of anything from one-color logos to full-color photographic representations. Multiple spot colors can be matched to PMS colors for simple logos.
Premium Custom Imprint Methods
All models below require special handling due to the unique processes and methods on each piece. Several model styles below require minimum quantities, tooling charges and special lead times, as well as specific art files. Contact your Zippo Sales Representative for more information.
Lustre
Restricted to plated finishes, the Lustre process recreates a design with intricate etching, which is then plated to add both depth and durability. Can be combined with 540 Fusion.

Double Lustre
A design is double-etched onto a lighter and then plated for a a layered, multi-dimensional effect. The lighter’s high-polish finish is incorporated into the design’s negative space for added depth.

Fusion
A combination of specific pre-determined color palettes and chrome breaks creates an iridescent, metallic look.

Auto Two-Tone
Contrast is achieved when Zippo engraves in two different depths. Vibrant chrome and brass engraving allows for a “gold and silver” effect.

Zippo’s lasers can be programmed utilizing two different depths, creating a unique contrast with silver and gold tones.

Photo Image
Photographs are digitally replicated into high-resolution images, which are then laser-engraved with pin-sharp accuracy.

Stamped
