This is a showcase for my personal Zippo collection.
Some I have bought and used when I was a smoker. Some were gifts, some were bought over the years to add to the collection. Some were bought as holiday mementos.
With over 90 years of manufacturing history and thousands of designs, it's no wonder that Zippo lighters have become as popular for their collections as they have for their reliability.
They have been used as a promotional product by many companies world wide as well as the military, sports teams, countries, cities, celebrities, you name it. With so many themes, it's hard to know where to start collecting.
My personal preference is the Zippo brand itself. Even that can lead to the quandry as to which section. I have recently had a tattoo of the Windy Girl on my forearm which has encouraged me to start collecting the Windy Girl themed lighters.
I was fortunate that I came across DeAgostini who were producing a fortnightly collection of Zippo lighters when it started. There was going to be 80 lighters in the collection but was extended to 100. To make sure I didn't miss one, I had them delivered each month. That was a huge boost to my collection.
